This major addition/renovation project consisted of a new 17,000 square foot multi-use gymnasium, which includes two full basketball courts, as well as indoor track and field practice facilities. Also new to this facility is a 2,500 square foot entry addition, which provides an expanded fitness area as well as a modern entrance. The majority of this addition’s south face uses glass that is monitored by an automated control system that reacts to incoming light. One major challenge Scull Construction faced was renovating 26,000 square feet of existing space, created when the existing swimming pool room was converted into two new levels of locker and fitness areas. Another challenge was completing all this work within an operating facility that hosts a variety of public events such as basketball games and career fairs.
